From Court to Clock: Mirra Andreeva Joins Rolex’s Elite Roster

Image
A Rolex at 17 years of age! I remember being that age, working as a pool boy at a resort in Australia. The running joke among the team was that if something shiny was at the bottom of the pool, dive in—it might be a Rolex! This was a five-star resort nestled in the Great Barrier Reef, but in reality, I was usually retrieving nothing more than a hairpin. That, however, is not the case for Russian teen sensation Mirra Andreeva, who has taken the WTA Tour by storm since making her debut in Madrid in 2023. Currently ranked No. 15 in the world, with a bright future ahead, it’s no surprise that sponsors are lining up for her endorsement. Andreeva has already secured deals with Nike and Wilson for her on-court gear, as well as Spanish dermatology brand ISDIN as her skincare partner. Her confidence has only grown since her debut, with a Roland Garros semifinal appearance in 2024, a spot in the top 20, and her maiden WTA title in Iași, Romania. Rolex is no stranger to recognizing ...

One month from now, the world’s top tennis players will battle it out under the California sun at Indian Wells. The BNP Paribas Open, the largest combined ATP and WTA event, runs from March 2–16, drawing thousands of fans to the Palm Springs area. With scorching temperatures and back-to-back matches, one essential item is often overlooked—sunscreen. Backed by over 9,000 dermatologists and a member of the L’Oréal family, the brand is set to provide fans with top-tier sun protection as they endure two weeks in the unforgiving Coachella Valley heat. Tennis fans may already be familiar with La Roche-Posay’s presence at major tournaments. Since becoming the official sunscreen partner of the US Open in 2022, the brand has actively promoted sun-safe practices at Flushing Meadows, offering free sunscreen, dermatologist consultations, and on-site activations. Singapore is finally back on the WTA calendar for 2025! After nearly seven years since hosting the year-end WTA Tour finals in 2018, the tour has decided it's time to return to one of the most bustling cities in the world. To welcome this year's inaugural Singapore Tennis Open, Turkish Airlines has been announced as the official airline partner for the event, taking place from January 27 to February 2 at the Kallang Tennis Hub. The airline is no stranger to throwing its name behind major tennis events, having been the title sponsor for the Antalya Open (Turkish Airlines Open) during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, an annual WTA Tour event in Stuttgart, Germany, has seen the airline sponsor the event since 2015, underscoring its commitment to the women's game. As part of the airline's new deal in Singapore, it will provide players with premium travel accommodations and some incredible prizes for players and fans. This year's women's sing...

Waterdrop creating an impact on and off the court

As another Australian Open came to a close on Sunday night, we witnessed a new champion in Madison Keys and a second Australian Open crown for Italy’s Jannik Sinner. A tournament that is typically associated with extreme temperatures surprised Australian spectators this year with cooler weather compared to previous editions. The highest recorded temperature over the two weeks at Melbourne Park was 34.6 degrees Celsius (94.28 Fahrenheit), with the coolest being 21.4 degrees Celsius (70.52 Fahrenheit). Despite the milder temperatures, we still saw some blistering tennis over the fortnight, alongside a partnership in the spotlight that highlighted the importance of hydration during a long tournament. Waterdrop, an Austrian hydration brand, announced its partnership with the ATP Tour in 2023, saving over 1.6 tonnes of plastic during the first year of this global collaboration. If you attended Melbourne Park this year or watched on TV, you may have noticed Waterdrop branding, colourfu...
